Nuclear Waste Policy Act - The Nuclear Waste Policy Act is a law enacted in 1982 by the U.S.
Low level waste - Low-level waste (LLW) is a term used to describe nuclear waste that does not fit into the categorical definitions for high-level waste (HLW), spent nuclear fuel (SNF), transuranic waste (TRU), or certain byproduct materials known as 11e(2) wastes, such as uranium mill tailings. In essence, it is a definition by exclusion, and LLW is that category of radioactive wastes that do not fit into the other categories.
Radioactive waste - Radioactive waste is waste material containing radioactive chemical elements that does not have a practical purpose. It is sometimes the product of a nuclear process, such as nuclear fission.
High level waste - High level Waste (HLW) arises from the use of uranium fuel in a nuclear reactor and nuclear weapons processing. It contains the fission products and transuranic elements generated in the reactor core.
Nuclear Waste Citizens Coalition - The NWCC unites 18 different groups working on various aspects of the nuclear waste problem. Our broad coalition includes anti-nuclear power groups, nuclear reactor communities, peace activists, nuclear weapons opponents, groups from contaminated DOE facilities, residents of sites targeted for nuclear waste dumps, and national environmental groups.
Nuclear Waste Project Office - Information from the State of Nevada Nuclear Waste Project Office (NWPO) about the Yucca Mountain and Nevada test sites. Includes news, policy, legal, nuclear waste transportation and technical issues.
Waste Management in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle - Briefing paper by the Uranium Information Center, Australia on nuclear waste management as a part of the fuel cycle. Includes a list of waste disposal practices worldwide.
